Oklahoma County Clerk Carolynn Caudill was arrested Tuesday night on complaints of driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident, authorities said.
Caudill, who was first elected clerk in 1996, was booked into the Oklahoma County jail about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday and released on bail four hours later, jail officials said.
Oklahoma City police Capt. Dexter Nelson confirmed Caudill was arrested after a hit-and-run accident but did not have a report on the incident.
Court officials said Caudill, 67, was arrested on complaints of driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident. Her bail was $1,270.
Caudill did not immediately return calls seeking comment Wednesday.
