The executive director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations-Oklahoma said Wednesday that he was surprised and shocked to learn that the United Arab Emirates had designated CAIR a terrorist organization.

State Rep. John Bennett, chairman of the Oklahoma Counterterrorism Caucus, immediately called for the Oklahoma attorney general to investigate both CAIR and the Islamic Society of North America, which also was on the terrorist list.

Adam Soltani, executive director of CAIR-Oklahoma, said, “It was bizarre and a shock that it (the designation) would happen in the first place, and even more bizarre that Rep.
