State Rep. Scott Biggs resigned Thursday, telling the House speaker he got a job with the federal government.
Biggs is known for his opposition to criminal justice reform efforts and this year blocked several bills endorsed by Gov. Mary Fallin.
According to his letter, Biggs’ resignation is effective immediately. His new post will be to promote Oklahoma’s agriculture industry, although he did not specify which job he will take.
Biggs could not be reached for comment. Calls to his cellphone were quickly sent to voicemail.
