Scott McEachin Announces Candidacy for State House District 67

-Press Release-

TULSA, Oklahoma- Local small-business owner Scott McEachin has announced his candidacy for State House District 67. A native of Tulsa, Oklahoma, McEachin has been invested in the local community with his law practice and political activism for over thirty-four years. He and his wife of over thirty-seven years, Debbie, have three sons.

McEachin graduated from the University of California at Santa Barbara and later received his law degree from the University of Oklahoma. McEachin has practiced oil and gas law in Oklahoma since 1976- a goal he has had since he was eight years old. This experience in the oil and gas field gives McEachin a critical understanding of the industry that is at the heart of our Oklahoma economy.

Over the past 10 years, McEachin has been an active citizen battling the federal overreach of everything from education to the EPA. McEachin has seen firsthand the negative impact of federal government overreach and over-regulation through his work in the oil and gas industry.

“This unsettling feeling so many of us are experiencing, need not continue if we elect people willing to seek solutions which are in keeping with conservative principles. We cannot expect any government to voluntarily give up power,” McEachin stated.

McEachin is running for office to bring local solutions to national problems and sees the need for principled conservative leadership in the legislature to restore the powers enumerated to the states by the people.

“In order to re-establish the proper balance between Washington, D.C. and the states, we, the people must vigorously assert and define those powers we hold to be ours and ours alone,” McEachin continued “I am running for House District 67 to bring my experience and knowledge of law and the Constitution to empower the people of the state of Oklahoma to take the power back from Washington. From education to healthcare, Oklahomans are much more capable of taking care of Oklahoma than are bureaucrats in Washington.”

House District 67 is currently held by Representative Pam Peterson (R-Tulsa) who will be term limited in 2016. House District 67 spans from 111th street to the south to 81st street to the north and from Yale to Garnett.
