With key questions about the format of Tulsa’s largest capital funding package at least temporarily answered, officials have about three weeks to sign off on a list of projects to propose at town hall meetings beginning next month.
Questions about those projects – including how much money will go toward fixing streets – still need to be answered.
City councilors agreed in nonbinding votes Thursday to pursue a single election Nov. 12 extending the third-penny and 0.167-cent sales taxes and issuing general obligation bonds for a funding package that would expire after collecting a certain amount of money.
Councilors have proposed setting that amount at either $850 million – projected to take five years and six months – or $916.8 million, which could take six years.
