Tax Credits Under Microscope As Legislature Reaches Mid-Point
Lawmakers advance bills on tax credit changes, drug database and texting

Bills affecting tax credits, prescription drug monitoring, texting and justice reform were some of the most significant measures that advanced in the Oklahoma Legislature before lawmakers hit a key deadline.
Failing to gain traction were more than a dozen measures the gay community labeled as discriminatory.
Thursday was the deadline for bills to be considered in their chamber of origin.
Gov. Mary Fallin said she is pleased the Legislature has addressed priorities such as trying to reduce the incarceration rate among nonviolent offenders and working to improve budgeting procedures, issues she highlighted before the session began.
