Unprecedented spending by former Mayor Kathy Taylor has made Tulsa’s mayoral race the most expensive in city history, new reports show.
Taylor is outspending Mayor Dewey Bartlett by a ratio of more than 3-to-1, bringing the combined expenses for all candidates in the race past and present to $4.56 million through Oct. 28.
The $3.32-million price of Taylor’s campaign alone rivals the $3.75 million fundraising record set by all candidates in the 2006 race, the last time she ran.
Bartlett has spent $958,291.
