Weintz Leaving Fallin Staff, Joining FKG Consulting
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: October 26, 2015
Governor Mary Fallin’s Communications Director to Step Down
OKLAHOMA CITY – Governor Mary Fallin’s communications director, Alex Weintz, today announced he will step down from his position on November 13. Weintz is leaving the Fallin administration to lead the communications division within FKG Consulting, an Oklahoma City based public affairs firm that offers government relations and communications consulting services.
“Alex has worked closely with me for almost a decade, and I appreciate his service to my office and to the state,” said Fallin. “He has a great strategic mind and a knack for communicating the kind of complicated issues we deal with in state politics. I’m sad to see him go, but glad he has found an exciting opportunity in the private sector.”
Weintz has worked with Fallin since January 2007, when Fallin served in the U.S. House of Representatives. He served as her press secretary in Congress before becoming communications director in her gubernatorial campaign and then her administration.
“It has been a privilege to spend the last nine years working for Mary Fallin,” said Weintz. “I am extremely proud of the work she has done, both in Congress and as governor, on behalf of the people of Oklahoma. She has been an exceptional leader for this state and it was an honor to play a small role in her efforts to improve government services and increase prosperity and opportunity for all Oklahomans.”
Beginning November 14, all press inquiries should be sent to Press Secretary Michael McNutt, Michael.McNutt@gov.ok.gov or the email address press@gov.ok.gov.
